Pentatonic Pandemonium

(This is an excerpt from the tune Tell Me from my album Visions And Dreams. Here are some notes for execution)
S : slide
Most notes are hammered/pulled or tapped.
When changing strings ascending : PICK.
When changing strings descending : HAMMER-ON.
The three consecutive " T " represent right hand hammer-ons and pull-offs using the second and third finger of the right hand.

Sweeping The Fourths/Tap Dancing

This is a little etude that contains sweeping and right hand hammer ons.

Apocalyptic Arpeggios

This is an excerpt from my tune "Visions and Dreams". Technically I am using a legato approach which requires you to stretch your hand. Also take note of the liberal use of hammer-ons. For those of you that like the Holdsworth style this lick is right up your alley. Harmonically I am using a Gb Lydian Dominant arpeggio sequence from the D melodic minor scale to play through this set of changes.

Sweep Dreams

(In this lesson I would like to cover one of my approaches to sweep sequenced arpeggios. This excerpt is taken from the acoustic free style solo that I do in the tune Visions and Dreams. Technically I'm using a combination of sweep picking and pull-offs to execute this lick. Refer to the chart for pick direction etc...)

Harmonically I'm using arps from Eb melodic minor over the Bb7#5/D chord. The arps are Cm7, Ab7, Fm7, and Dm7b5. Over the EbM7b5 chord I'm using the B diminished arp. Over the Fm/M7b5 I finish up the B diminished arp and then go into the Em7b5b9 arp which both can be found in the Fm/M7b5 scale. I end the lick by landing on the A note which is the seventh of the BbM7b5 chord. To get more mileage out of this lesson, analyze how the notes of the solo fit with the chords. Have fun!
